Things That Annoy Infertile Girls (Or Maybe Just Me?)

  • Accidental Pregnancies - So I have been trying for years to get pregnant, you go slut around and accidentally get pregnant?
  • Immediate Pregnancies - You quit taking your birth control last month and now you are pregnant?
  • People Who Give You Retarded Advice -
           - Just stop trying and you will get pregnant
           - My friend adopted a baby and got pregnant right away, you should do that
           - Get drunk, people always get pregnant when they are drunk (Yes, they
do. Because they are intoxicated and forget to take precautions.)
  • Whiny Girls That Pretend They Are Infertile - Trying for 5 months is not suffering  from infertility.  It takes a year on average to get pregnant

  • Stupid Pregnancy Announcements on Facebook

  • Pregnant Girls That Don't Research Pregnancy - If you are having a baby, and I can't, at least have the decency to care about your pregnancy and birth OK?
  • People That Have Kids And Are Awful Parents - I am not one of those people that thinks you should have to have a license to breed.  But seriously, if you are giving your kid a baby bottle with soda in it and letting your 2 year old climb up the shelves at Wal-Mart, I can't help but think "Seriously, you can reproduce and I can't?!?!"
  • Pregnancy Tests - Because they are ALWAYS negative, but sometimes you just can't help yourself.

  1. Although I currently am what I call "An Infertile Pregnant" (pregnant after almost 3 years of trying and after my third IVF), I couldn't agree MORE with this post. All these things STILL annoy me!!! So, in a word: AMEN SISTER!

  4. It took us a short time to get pregnant with our first (6 months) which I know is not considered abnormal but everyone around me was getting instantly pregnant (including my younger sibling and his wife). I can tell you that it hurt and I shared all the same hurts and frustrations you listed. But it's only a glimpse of the pain I know you are going through.

  5. That would really suck! It seems like the more you want to be pregnant the more other people get pregnant!

  6. as someone who has gotten pregnant every time she ovulated, but not been able to carry so far. I can say it is very annoying to have people tell you to just take fertility meds, especially if you are working with your doctor on getting it fixed naturally. some of us are only in this boat because birth control messed us up more, instead of fixing it. love your post, spot on!

  7. We have three beautiful children here on earth and 1 sweet boy in heaven. Getting pregnant did not come "naturally" to my body with our two girls, it tooks years with each. Both of our boys were "surprises" We were not trying and we figured we most likely would not get pregnant again since our girls were hard to concieve and I have very hard pergnancies with both. Our oldest son died sometime between 14 and 16 weeks gestation and youngest son is a busy 13 month old now. Losing a child was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through, even though I never held him in my arms. But I can only imagine the pain of longing for a child you may never concieve. Praying for you!!

Manipulatives Monday GIVEAWAY from Mother Goose Time - closed

Giveaway closed! Thank you so much to everyone who entered, I really appreciate it! I have excellent news!  Today is Manipulatives Monday, and Mother Goose Time  is giving away a great prize!  One lucky winner will receive TWO bags of manipulatives!  Mother Goose Time will chose the prizes, but I assure you, whatever they send will be a lot of fun for your children! Manipulatives are a big hit in our house.  Every month we get two new bags of manipulatives, and every month Little Guy asks if he can play with them before the month starts.  The answer is always no, but he tries every month anyways.  During the month we use them for the assigned activities but after we are done with the curriculum, I let him add them to his toy collection. One thing that is in almost every box is a set of counters.  These are often in the shape of animals, which are Little Guy's favorites.  They are used for a variety of activities, and are alwa...

God Made You Just Right by Jill Roman Lord - A Review

Most of the books I review are for adults, but I got a chance to review God Made You Just Right, which is a board book.  From the back of the book: You're brilliantly created, and there's no one else like you!  With simple, rhyming text and whimsical illustrations, this book is a welcome reminder for little ones that God created each of us in just the right way. I love the artwork, it is colorful and engaging, which should catch the attention of small children, but still nice to look at for adults.  The text is encouraging and has a good rhyme pattern, which I always appreciate in books for small children.  It isn't a story, but poetry telling children that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created each part of each person.  I love that it talks about the things you uniquely need to be able to fulfill God's plan for you. At the end of the book is Jeremiah 29:11, which gives scriptural support to the rest of the book.  My only...
