Autumn Plans

A lot of people say they are making a "Fall Bucket List", but I don't like that term, because: I prefer the word Autumn to Fall, it just sounds prettier, and because its called a bucket list because its stuff to do before you "kick the bucket", and while I can't make any guarantees, I don't PLAN on kicking the bucket before Winter starts.

I am a stickler for not starting seasons before they start, so I won't be making an Autumn 2013 album on Facebook until September 22nd.  I don't really know why it irritates me when people start saying its Fall/Autumn as soon as school starts, it doesn't really matter at all. 

Anyways, these are some things I really want to make sure I do before December 21st 2013 (the beginning of Winter).

  • Go to the pumpkin patch - I have gone for the last couple years, and want to go again this year.  Miss Baby needs pumpkin patch pictures!
  • Make candy corn dresses for the girls to wear to the pumpkin patch.  Or buy them from Etsy if I were not both poor and cheap.
  • Rake leaves into piles and let the girls jump in them.
  • Go apple picking.
  • Take the girls "puddle jumping".
  • Buy a pair of rain boots (hopefully before the puddle jumping!)

God Made You Just Right by Jill Roman Lord - A Review

Most of the books I review are for adults, but I got a chance to review God Made You Just Right, which is a board book.  From the back of the book: You're brilliantly created, and there's no one else like you!  With simple, rhyming text and whimsical illustrations, this book is a welcome reminder for little ones that God created each of us in just the right way. I love the artwork, it is colorful and engaging, which should catch the attention of small children, but still nice to look at for adults.  The text is encouraging and has a good rhyme pattern, which I always appreciate in books for small children.  It isn't a story, but poetry telling children that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created each part of each person.  I love that it talks about the things you uniquely need to be able to fulfill God's plan for you.
