Miss Baby Breaks Her Face (Part 3)

She was crying a lot, and she almost made me cry a couple times, because I am a big loser, and always wonder if the kids really love me and feel attached.  But today I found out that Miss Baby most certainly loves me.  I was laying right next to her, but she couldn't see me, so once she asked to "see Mama", which was sweet.  Then she asked for a kiss, and I said I would kiss her belly, but she said "Kiss face", so they lifted up the cover so I could give her a kiss.  And when she got unwrapped she practically flew into my arms.  She also really wanted to go home.

On the way home, Grandma Lisa and Mama spoiled Miss Baby rotten.

After we left the hospital we had to go pick up some ibuprofen and neosporin.  My mom has a teeny tiny car, with only two doors, so the logical thing to do is run in and leave the kids in the car, but Miss Baby was crying softly, and begging to go in with me, so I let her.  She was very good in the store, so it worked out okay.

Next we went to McDonald's to grab dinner, because we were going to grocery shop this afternoon, but it didn't really work out that well.  Plus, um McDonald's is freaking delicious.  Usually I buy the kids a McDouble and apple slices.  Today Miss Baby got a Happy Meal (which meant apple slices PLUS fries and a toy), and soda (or you know Powerade that we called soda).

By the time dinner was over, it was bedtime, so I got her into jammies and read her a story.  Then I asked if she wanted Mama to carry her upstairs, or she wanted to go herself.  She replied "Watch Gilligan first", so I let her stay up and watch I Love Lucy, because we didn't have any Gilligan's Island.  So we spoiled her pretty bad.

God Made You Just Right by Jill Roman Lord - A Review

Most of the books I review are for adults, but I got a chance to review God Made You Just Right, which is a board book.  From the back of the book: You're brilliantly created, and there's no one else like you!  With simple, rhyming text and whimsical illustrations, this book is a welcome reminder for little ones that God created each of us in just the right way. I love the artwork, it is colorful and engaging, which should catch the attention of small children, but still nice to look at for adults.  The text is encouraging and has a good rhyme pattern, which I always appreciate in books for small children.  It isn't a story, but poetry telling children that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created each part of each person.  I love that it talks about the things you uniquely need to be able to fulfill God's plan for you.
