Chomps Snack Sticks Review

Beef jerky is amazing right?  But its filled with additives and preservatives, making it a less healthy snack than it seems.  You can't really feel good about handing your child a stick of chemical laced meat, despite the protein content.

Before I go on, let me say that I received a free sample kit from Chomps Snack Sticks in exchange for a review.  This partnership was facilitated by Brandbacker.  Regardless of the amazing "price" I paid for these sticks of deliciousness, my review is not influenced by that and all opinions are my own!

Chomps Snack Sticks are a healthy and delicious beef jerky.  They are made from 100% grass fed, non GMO beef, and don't contain anything icky like MSG or fillers like gluten or sugar.  They have 9g of protein and are around 100 calories per serving.  

I can't decide if I am a fan of regular jerky, sometimes I really like it and sometimes I think its pretty gross.  Chomps Snack Sticks however, are wonderful.  They come in three flavors, Original, Hoppin' Jalapeno, and Crankin' Cran.  Original is really good, Hoppin' Jalapeno is AMAZING, and I am honestly not a fan of Crankin' Cran, because it has cranberries in it and I am really weird about textures and they totally throw off the texture.  


They have a lot of flavor, and other than Original they are quite spicy.  I liked them so much I didn't share them with my family, except I gave Little Guy the Crankin' Cran ones because the cranberries didn't bother him.  He told me they are "not yucky" and wanted to keep eating them, but he did say they burnt his mouth when he was finished, so if you or your kids are not into spicy foods they might not appreciate the spicier ones.  

Jerky is always expensive, and I was expecting this to be even more expensive because its so much healthier and tastier than the stuff you buy at the gas station.  I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the relatively good prices that Chomp Snack Sticks offer.  The prices get better the more you buy, so if you are not able to make an expensive investment in jerky, I would suggest getting some people to go in with you and buy a case.  The smallest package they offer is 5 sticks, at a cost of $2.25 per stick, but its only $1.79 each if you buy the case of 144.  Shipping is free over $75, and $4 flat rate for under $75.

    Hey these look great. But nothing can beat the scrumptious Dusty’s Snack Sticks! This classic flavor is a great choice for one of the best snack sticks on the market. And they are high in protein, low-fat meat snack perfect munchies for the little ones. Go for this one and be ready for some quick snack attack.

God Made You Just Right by Jill Roman Lord - A Review

Most of the books I review are for adults, but I got a chance to review God Made You Just Right, which is a board book.  From the back of the book: You're brilliantly created, and there's no one else like you!  With simple, rhyming text and whimsical illustrations, this book is a welcome reminder for little ones that God created each of us in just the right way. I love the artwork, it is colorful and engaging, which should catch the attention of small children, but still nice to look at for adults.  The text is encouraging and has a good rhyme pattern, which I always appreciate in books for small children.  It isn't a story, but poetry telling children that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created each part of each person.  I love that it talks about the things you uniquely need to be able to fulfill God's plan for you.
