God Is An Artist - Mother Goose Time

If I have said it once I will probably say it 6000 more times.  Mother Goose Time is the ultimate theme creator.  Every month we get a box PACKED full of curriculum that is matched perfectly to the month's theme.  Storybooks, games, manipulatives, you name it, it "goes"!!!

The Experience God add-on is no different.  God is an Artist fits seamlessly with our Art Studio theme we had this month.  It is SOOO true as well.  God is the ULTIMATE artist.  God made the world and everything in it!  Even the best artist has never created anything more than tributes to the beauty God has created.

Every month the Experience God Teacher's Kit comes with Story Cards.  These cards usually have pictures related to the story that help the children remember.  On the back is the story you read to them, complete with prompts to make it more interactive.  This month was a little different, instead of 4-5 cards, we got seven cards, one for each day of creation.  The Storytelling Set was pictures from the middle five cards, that the children could add to the first picture.  It was really clever, and I love when Mother Goose Time changes things up, but still keeps them familiar.

Along with the Story Cards, Teacher's Guide, and Storytelling Set, each Teacher's kit also comes with a memory verse.  Most of the time Little Guy is great at memorizing them, but I didn't try very hard this month.  The verse was longer than usual, and although quite relevant to the month's theme, I think it was a little tough for a three year old to remember.  Although that was partially my fault.  If I were better about doing Mother Goose Time everyday he probably could have memorized it by the end of the month no problem.

The Teacher Guide is great.  It has instructions for using it as a part of your day, or using it as a Sunday School curriculum.  The main theme is separated into 4 weekly themes, and each week has 5 games, projects or lessons along with devotional content to help the kids really understand what they are learning.

Each child gets a Child Pack, which contain family newsletter with coloring pages on the back, and art supplies for four projects that are connected to the theme.  While we don't do much with them since I am Mama and teacher, they would be excellent to use in a classroom setting to keep parents involved.

Here is Little Guy making one of the art projects

*I receive Mother Goose Time curriculum and the Experience God add-on in exchange for sharing our experiences and pictures!  All opinions are my own :) *

Manipulatives Monday GIVEAWAY from Mother Goose Time - closed

Giveaway closed! Thank you so much to everyone who entered, I really appreciate it! I have excellent news!  Today is Manipulatives Monday, and Mother Goose Time  is giving away a great prize!  One lucky winner will receive TWO bags of manipulatives!  Mother Goose Time will chose the prizes, but I assure you, whatever they send will be a lot of fun for your children! Manipulatives are a big hit in our house.  Every month we get two new bags of manipulatives, and every month Little Guy asks if he can play with them before the month starts.  The answer is always no, but he tries every month anyways.  During the month we use them for the assigned activities but after we are done with the curriculum, I let him add them to his toy collection. One thing that is in almost every box is a set of counters.  These are often in the shape of animals, which are Little Guy's favorites.  They are used for a variety of activities, and are alwa...

God Made You Just Right by Jill Roman Lord - A Review

Most of the books I review are for adults, but I got a chance to review God Made You Just Right, which is a board book.  From the back of the book: You're brilliantly created, and there's no one else like you!  With simple, rhyming text and whimsical illustrations, this book is a welcome reminder for little ones that God created each of us in just the right way. I love the artwork, it is colorful and engaging, which should catch the attention of small children, but still nice to look at for adults.  The text is encouraging and has a good rhyme pattern, which I always appreciate in books for small children.  It isn't a story, but poetry telling children that God knew exactly what He was doing when He created each part of each person.  I love that it talks about the things you uniquely need to be able to fulfill God's plan for you. At the end of the book is Jeremiah 29:11, which gives scriptural support to the rest of the book.  My only...
