A Not So Uglee Pen Review

I was given three ergonomic pens to try and review.

You can buy three pens for $19.99 on their website.

The Uglee Pen was designed by a doctor to be ergonomically correct and super comfortable. As well as being comfortable, I believe it could be useful in teaching children the proper way to hold a pen, although I didn't try this much because three-year olds and ink scare me a bit. It is also helpful to people who hold their pens to tight (guilty). I honestly didn't notice a huge difference in comfort, but that is probably because I don't write for long periods of time, and don't have any joint problems.

The comfort pen has a cushioned gel grip and is very lightweight. Despite its name it isn't particularly ugly, although mine are a yellow color I wouldn't choose myself (I would totally pick the pink one). The soft grip has little specks of glitter in it, which I think is awesome.

There are a couple of downfalls to this pen. The main one is its name: Uglee Pen. I gave one to my husband to use for work, but he said that with the name written on it in bold letters, it didn't come off very professional, and he wasn't comfortable handing it over to customers. Perhaps in the future they will make an "executive line" that has a classier look.

The other downfall is also a main selling point: the gel grip. While it is awesome for writing, and looks really fun, it isn't a pen that you can throw in the bottom of your purse. All the little crumbs (what don't you have crumbs in your purse?) will stick to the grip.

For all the times you need a pen, but don't need to make a professional impression, this is a great option. It would also be great for kids going back to school, since it is fun and comfortable.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Manipulatives Monday GIVEAWAY from Mother Goose Time - closed

Giveaway closed! Thank you so much to everyone who entered, I really appreciate it! I have excellent news!  Today is Manipulatives Monday, and Mother Goose Time  is giving away a great prize!  One lucky winner will receive TWO bags of manipulatives!  Mother Goose Time will chose the prizes, but I assure you, whatever they send will be a lot of fun for your children! Manipulatives are a big hit in our house.  Every month we get two new bags of manipulatives, and every month Little Guy asks if he can play with them before the month starts.  The answer is always no, but he tries every month anyways.  During the month we use them for the assigned activities but after we are done with the curriculum, I let him add them to his toy collection. One thing that is in almost every box is a set of counters.  These are often in the shape of animals, which are Little Guy's favorites.  They are used for a variety of activities, and are alwa...

Breastfeeding An Adopted Child - The Tenth Day of Christmas

Today we are hearing from Teglene.  Her story is pretty long, but trust me, it is totally worth reading through!  She also has a great blog, called The Breastfeeding Mother . I always knew I wanted to breastfeed my children. I couldn ’t imagine doing it any differently. I was lucky enough to give birth to two beautiful boys and I enjoyed breastfeeding them both. Not that it was easy or without struggle, but it was what I wanted to do and loved doing it. In fact, I liked it so much, and felt so passionate about breastfeeding that I became a La Leche League Leader, so that I could help other breastfeeding moms. I really took to the idea of “Mothering through breastfeeding”. It wasn ’t just a feeding method for me, but a relationship with my child. My husband and I always talked about adopting a child who needed a family. We thought, if we can’t have kids of our own then we will adopt. Even if we can have kids of our own, maybe we will still adopt. After the birt...
