Comfy Joey Wool Sling Review and Giveaway

Did you enter to win the $25 Comfy Joey voucher and lose?  Well, GREAT NEWS!  Comfy Joey is amazingly generous and I am able to offer not one, but TWO more vouchers!

Along with the Dolly Sling, I was also given a Newborn Wool Sling

I was super excited when I got the sling in the mail.  I love baby-wearing, and trying out new carriers is always fun.

The Newborn Wool Slings are for use between birth and 25lbs.  Miss Baby is 25 lbs. so she is right at the top of the weight limit (they are safe up to 30 lbs. 25lbs. is for comfort).  It is a handwash in cold water item and should be air dried.

This sling is so cozy and cuddly that I have not gotten a chance to use it very much, because we have had a quite warm summer.  It is a grey, tan, and cream houndstooth with silver rings, which means it matches everything you could possibly want to wear it with.  The sling is very well made, and the rails are pretty easy to adjust.

The only downside to this particular sling is that after I washed it, it smelled a little weird.  I am assuming this is because it is wool, and wool is made from sheep and wet sheep probably smell a little funky.  When it dried I didn't really notice the smell anymore.

Today Miss Baby and I walked to the store, but I wore the sling for when she got tired, and it was great to have.  You can't really wear soft structured carriers around without kids in them unless you like looking ridiculous.  I think that slings are perfect for shopping, because a kid on the front is in the way, and a kid on the back is a liability.  On your hip, where you can see everything they are doing, but you can still shop, is perfect.  I prefer a wrap or soft structured carrier for a long walk, but slings are perfect for short walks or having on hand for when you need them.

I plan to add a couple of pictures of Miss Baby and I using the sling, but I have not gotten any yet, so I am using photos from the site until tomorrow when I will have my husband take some.

Fill out the entry form below to enter to win one of the vouchers!  I have made the follow me on Facebook entry optional, because I know I hate following a zillion places on Facebook just to enter to win awesome things.  But I promise I don't post more than a few times a day, and most days I don't post at all, so I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it if you could follow me even though it isn't mandatory, I won't clog up yours newsfeed :)

Giveaway Tools was acting up so I replaced it with Rafflecopter, but if you already entered, I will add your entries (assuming I can figure out how...). If I can't figure it out, I will email you so you can re-enter.

Breastfeeding An Adopted Child - The Tenth Day of Christmas

Today we are hearing from Teglene.  Her story is pretty long, but trust me, it is totally worth reading through!  She also has a great blog, called The Breastfeeding Mother . I always knew I wanted to breastfeed my children. I couldn ’t imagine doing it any differently. I was lucky enough to give birth to two beautiful boys and I enjoyed breastfeeding them both. Not that it was easy or without struggle, but it was what I wanted to do and loved doing it. In fact, I liked it so much, and felt so passionate about breastfeeding that I became a La Leche League Leader, so that I could help other breastfeeding moms. I really took to the idea of “Mothering through breastfeeding”. It wasn ’t just a feeding method for me, but a relationship with my child. My husband and I always talked about adopting a child who needed a family. We thought, if we can’t have kids of our own then we will adopt. Even if we can have kids of our own, maybe we will still adopt. After the birth of our

Why I Choose Christian Light Education Homeschool Curriculum

Last summer I decided that I was going to homeschool our foster daughters while they were on summer vacation.  There were two reasons for this: 1) Two of the three girls were behind academically.  I really hoped that by working through the summer we could help them get on track for the next school year.  They left our house soon after school started, so I don't know how well it worked. 2) I don't allow my children much in the way of screen time, and these girls were accustomed to having TV and tablets in their rooms all the time.  So they never really knew what to do with themselves.  I figured school work for the morning would help with that dilemma. Choosing a curriculum was difficult for me.  I know that some people bounce around and change curriculum a lot, but whatever I got, I hoped I would like enough to use the non-consumables with Little Guy.  I don't like wasting money, and I hate the idea of some topics falling through the cracks because different curricu
