Things I Want To Do - Flashback Friday

Additions to the original post are in pink :)

This is a list. A weird list because some things are important, and some of them are random, but still, all things I want to do...

*be pregnant
*give birth
*have a baby
(yes I realize that all of these could be the same, but they also can all happen independently i.e. miscarriages, c-sections, adoption)
*make myself a dress that looks pretty
*move out of my mother-in-laws house  DONE
*buy a house  DONE
*build a house
*knit something that doesn't look like crap
*crochet something that doesn't look like crap
*finish reading the Bible
*visit another country at least one more time Even Canada would count I decided
*learn a second language to a conversational level
*have a garden
*have a clothesline sort of done... I have a clothesline, but the cord is all bunched up at one end and I have never used it...
*make a quilt
*be a wonderful housewife, who keeps a clean house and feeds her family well rounded meals
*breastfeed at least one baby…

Finding a Silver Lining - Flashback Friday

Originally titled Today I am Thankful for Not Having a Baby

I want children very much. But had I conceived when I first started trying, both my birth experience and my life would be much more stressful.

Since I have had all this time to study up on birth practices and statistics, I now know things that will make it much safer and gentler to give birth. If I had immediately gotten pregnant, I would have given birth in a hospital, on my back, probably been given pitocin, and possibly an epidural. My babies would have been vaccinated (a controversial post on that coming after Thanksgiving) on the regular schedule. I would have used disposible diapers all the time. Now I feel like I know better (this is NOT an insult to people who do the things I have just listed. I just have learned the dangers of these things and feel its best to avoid them).

Michael and I are much more settled right now then we were three years ago. We have an apar…

A Rant On Diet and Exercise - Flashback Friday

Additions to the original post are in pink :)

Let me start out by acknowledging my lack of application of the knowledge I am going to share.

Everyone always says if you want to lose weight you have to exercise. Let us take a moment and do some math (don't worry I am doing it for you, who wants to do math?).

We are going to have a delicious snack, well we are going to pretend we are anyways. First I am going to give you 13 Puffy Cheetos. You are probably thirsty, so I'm going to be nice and buy you a fountain drink (32 ounces), and its going to be Dr. Pepper. Plus, I'm sure you want some chocolate, so I am going to buy you some Junior Mints too. Just a regular size box, not the king size or anything. How many calories do you think that is? 780! There are 780 calories in that "snack". And other then the soda, which you might sip on for hours (rotting your teeth... yes I am being a downer today), its pretty much gone in 10 minutes. More than one third of y…

Why Don't You Cover Up Already? For That Matter, Why Don't I? - Flashback Friday

Again, this is a hypocritcal post, so don't feel that I am insulting or judging you!  Additions to the original post are in pink :)

2Now I commend you(B) because you remember me in everything and(C) maintain the traditions(D) even as I delivered them to you. 3But I want you to understand that(E) the head of every man is Christ,(F) the head of a wife[a] is her husband, and(G) the head of Christ is God. 4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5but every wife[b] who prays or(H) prophesies(I) with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same(J) as if her head were shaven. 6For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. 7For a man ought not to cover his head, since(K) he is the image and glory of God, but(L) woman is the glory of man. 8For(M) man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9Neither was man …

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You - Flashback Friday

Additions to the original post are in pink :) This is one of my hypocritical posts, so you can read this disclaimer/warning. Or not, but just don't get all offended, and don't post anything mean, because it will hurt my feelings and not get published.

Yesterday I was watching Baggage, because I am a sucker for guilty pleasure TV. Anyways, most of the time they have really weird/scary/slutty baggage. Like the lady who had slept with 115 people. Or the guy with a satanic tattoo on his chest "Its all in fun" was his excuse. But this guys baggage was admirable. He said that he is the real life 40 year old virgin. Why on earth he went on the show is beyond me, maybe he had never watched it before. He said that he was raised really well and was religious and that it was important to him to wait until he was married. She turned him down of course, because she was a whore. I still watch Baggage. It is really trashy, but its just so crazy to see what people are wi…
