Toddler Defiance and Wifely Submission

We have not had a lot of good Mother Goose Time days this month.  Part of it has been my lack of organization, the usual culprit.  Add to that Michael having a few extra days off this month, which always throws me off, and Little Guy picking the last few weeks to decide to test my authority on pretty much everything, and Mother Goose Time is just not getting done as regularly as it should.   Little Guy is really stubborn.  Thankfully, not as stubborn as me, or he could turn into a real little tyrant.  His stubbornness has limited the time we have available to do fun things.  My kid would rather spend his whole day sitting at the table than eat a carrot when he decides that he doesn't feel like eating vegetables anymore.  I had been sending him to bed when he was not eating them, since if you don't get energy from food you can get it from sleep, but then one day I gave him his plate and he ASKED to go to bed, so I realized that wasn't really an effec...

I Love You

The other day Michael said "I love you" to which I replied "I love you too".  Apparently he thought I said it to emotionlessly (I think I made up another word!) and said I should mean it when I say it.  I admitted that it IS pretty much a reflex, but since I ALWAYS love him its always true.  He said love shouldn't be a reflex. Why is "I love you too" a reflex?  Because I spend my day with not one, but two three year olds.  Who tell me all day long that they love me.  If one of them says it, the other one will 9 times out of 10 say it too.  No one wants to be left out of the love.  These girls are wonderful, and I DO love them.  But I would guess that I literally get told I love you 20 times a day, not counting when Michael says it!  Which is wonderful, you can't have to much love!  Since you can't ignore it when a cute little kid says I love you, I tend to say "I love you too" at least 20 times a day, and sometimes it is just a re...

Goals Revisited

In January I set up a list of goals, at which I am failing miserably. -Have a baby: still "unpregnant" -Lose 10 lbs: I have lost about 4, but that is no where near close to ten -Lose 20 lbs: Obviously not -Lose 30 lbs: I am actually not sure I want to lose this much, I think I will switch it to                      23 lbs.  I don't want to be sickly skinny. -Drink 2 glasses of water a day: This is SO easy.  And yet I am not doing it.  Stupid                                                    soda for being delicious. -Keep my house cleaner: I still don't have a house so I am giving myself a break on this  ...

My Husband is Awesome

Michael buys me the coolest presents.  See I am the type of person who pretty much doesn't purchase anything if it costs more than $10.  So my husband loves to surprise me with things I would never buy myself.  Usually media/electronics since he works at an electronics store.  Today he came home with seasons 3 and 4 of The Big Bang Theory for me, and he often surprises me with Disney movies or Sims expansion packs.  It is so much fun, because it is always things I would really love to have, but can't handle buying for myself.  He is such a sweetie :)

Not Failing!

Reasons I am not failing this week: -I have read 25% of the New Testament this week -I have gotten up early and made breakfast for Michael every morning -I have gotten up early and made lunch for Michael at least most mornings -I have gotten up early and started Michael's car every morning -I cleaned of the patio (including throwing away the pool that has been sitting there deflated and empty since summer) which Michael has been asking me to do for some where around 3 months Now if only I could get a clear temperature shift showing ovulation.  All my calenders tell me that I have ovulated, but looking at the chart I beg to differ.  *sigh*

Everything Changes... Eventually

Five years ago I got married. And after five years I am still not a Mrs. Tomorrow I get halfway there. See my husband told me a long time ago, before we even started dating, that he HATED his last name, and would never expect his wife to take it. So when I married him I didn't take it. Because his last name is pretty sucky. Its not really that bad, but its Mexican. So when we had a home phone set up all our telemarketer calls were in Spanish. And when I have used his last name to sign up for things, all my junk mail comes in Spanish. I speak English. Now I am an old-fashioned girl. I told him that I would take his last name, but I didn't want our kids to have it (HAHAHA - this was back when I thought I could reproduce). Being Mexican has some negative stereotypes attached to it, which I didn't want to saddle my kids with. Plus they will speak English, so they wouldn't be able to read their junk mail. Michael agreed with me about not giving them his last name...

A Sad Day

Not today, but tomorrow will be sad.  Michael is going on a business trip.  Seeing as how he is a delivery driver, you wouldn't think he would need to go on business trips.  But he just got the driver position, and apparently they don't do training anywhere in Oregon, so he has to fly down to California.  He leave the house tomorrow morning at 10 ish, and won't come back until Sunday night around 10 ish.  I don't mind sleeping alone, unlike some married ladies I know (is it okay to refer to myself as a lady?  Seems almost vain, but hey its my blog so I guess I can do what I want), but I still prefer him to be next to me.  But to look on the bright side, I will get to sprawl out on the bed, pick all the TV/movies that I watch, eat TV dinners (yes I think this is the bright side, as much as I love to cook, I love to eat fast food, boxed food, and frozen food), have less dishes to do, and hopefully I will go to bed early enough to get up and take a w...

Today I Am Thankful For Totaled Cars

This is actually all about my husband, who I might not have ever married if it were not for a totaled car :) I didn't really date much before I got married, I wasn's a seriel dater like most high schoolers, I was more of the obsessed with one guy that doesn't really have any interest in me type.  Even my husband and I didn't date very much.  Mostly we were friends that made out alot for a while (I'm only a tiny bit of a whore, not really a whore I promise), like a month or two.  Poor Michael asked me to be his girlfriend like 3 times and I kept telling him no.  Not because I didn't like him, but because I had not really dated much before and had always gotten bored after like a month or less the two times I did have a boyfriend.  Plus he was supposed to be moving to Washington for school in a few months, and I didn't want a boyfriend that lived in another state.  My family lives in Idaho, and Michael and I were going to go over to visit one rainy nigh...

Why Don't You Cover Up Already? For That Matter, Why Don't I?

2 Now I commend you ( B ) because you remember me in everything and ( C ) maintain the traditions ( D ) even as I delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to understand that ( E ) the head of every man is Christ, ( F ) the head of a wife [ a ] is her husband, and ( G ) the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5 but every wife [ b ] who prays or ( H ) prophesies ( I ) with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same ( J ) as if her head were shaven. 6 For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. 7 For a man ought not to cover his head, since ( K ) he is the image and glory of God, but ( L ) woman is the glory of man. 8 For ( M ) man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9 Neither was man created for woman, but ( N ) woman for man. 10 That is why a wife...

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You...

Yesterday I was watching Baggage, because I am a sucker for guilty pleasure TV.  Anyways, most of the time they have really weird/scary/slutty baggage.  Like the lady who had slept with 115 people.  Or the guy with a satanic tattoo on his chest "Its all in fun" was his excuse.  But this guys baggage was admirable.  He said that he is the real life 40 year old virgin.  Why on earth he went on the show is beyond me, maybe he had never watched it before.  He said that he was raised really well and was religious and that it was important to him to wait until he was married.  She turned him down of course, because she was a whore. Anyways, I am sure you have heard the whole, "You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it" analogy as to why you should engage in premarital sex.  This guy had the perfect response to this (not verbatim): "Which would you rather buy; an old junker that has a bunch of miles on it and engine problems, or a brand new pr...

Four Years

On August 17th Michael and I had been together for four years.  Thats as long as High School.  Except unlike High School I didn't skip a quarter of that time.  Plus I like being married WAY more than High School.  In case you had not already figured it out, I'm a little bit of a weirdo.  For some reason it gives me great joy that Michael and I am have been married longer than pretty much anyone we know.  Sometimes this is ridiculous, such as my sister, who is quite alot younger than me, and therefore could not have been married as long as me, and she got married almost a year younger than me.  Or like a couple I know that has been married less time than me, but was together for like nine years before they got married.  Michael and I were only together for like nine months.  Four years reminds me of The First Four Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I love Little House books.  I want to buy a set of them, preferably hard cover so my ...

I Am About To Become An Even Worse Blogger!

Which is an awesome thing!  Okay, its sad for all you loyal readers, but its a good thing for me! On Saturday my husband and I are moving out of his mother's house!  For those of you that don't know, its been a long time.  3 years and 8 months to long.  So I am super excited. This comes at a loss though.  The loss of internet and cable television.  We are poor and can't afford everything, so food comes first.  Tomorrow will be the last time I shower at this house, tomorrow night is the last night I will sleep here.  I'm going to have someplace that is my own and I am ecstatic.  As you can tell by my excessive use of exclamation points!  Actually thats just a habit of mine as I like to convey my excitement!

Things I Want to Do

This is a list. A weird list because some things are important, and some of them are random, but still, all things I want to do... *be pregnant *give birth *have a baby (yes I realize that all of these could be the same, but they also can all happen independently i.e. miscarriages, c-sections, adoption) *make myself a dress that looks pretty *move out of my mother-in-laws house *buy a house *build a house *knit something that doesn't look like crap *crochet something that doesn't look like crap *finish reading the Bible *visit another country at least one more time *learn a second language to a conversational level *have a garden *have a clothesline *make a quilt *be a wonderful housewife, who keeps a clean house and feeds her family well rounded meals *breastfeed at least one baby at least 2 years *raise a good Christian family Well thats it... I don't have super lofty goals, I don't want to be rich or famous, or travel around the world. I don...
