Wife, Then Mama

Soooo.  I got my gorgeous corset from Orchard Corset a few months back.  I seasoned it, I loved it, I wrote about it . Then I got a job baby-sitting at someone else's house.  Which left me either a) not waist training, b) wearing my corset 10+ hours a day (which some people do) and/or messing with it as someone else's house, or c) wearing it in the evenings. See how it pushes away from my body at the top? That is because I don't wear it enough to tighten it at the top without bending the boning. The more you wear a corset the better it looks, feels, and fits! As the lazy person I am, you can probably guess which option I took.  Then I came back home to baby-sit, but now it has been 90 degrees most days, and I just haven't wanted to lace up! However, I still got my corset for free from Orchard Corset, and I feel like I should really attempt to keep up my end of the bargain better than I have been.  But since I don't really have any update picture...

I know what you are thinking, "Why is she posting a picture of a burrito on a post about corsets?" Well, although this LOOKS like a burrito, it is actually how a corset from Orchard Corset arrives.  I was incredibly busy the day that my corset arrived, so this was the only way I was able to get a picture of the pretty packaging before ripping it open. As soon as I got the package out of the mailbox I was completely astounded by how heavy it is!  I don't have a lot of experience with foundation garments, but my only other corset I have owned was not even half the weight of this one.  This corset has real steel bones, so it can be used for waist training. What is waist training?  It is the process of slowly, and gently, reducing your waist to a smaller than natural size. This post was originally posted on August 31, 2013.  Although I didn't intend this post to be dishonest, I have since learned that this corset is very, very low quality.  Corsetchick.com is no longer in business, so I have gotten rid of all the links.  Additions to the original post are in pink. Sometimes I do silly things.  Like apply for a product review of a corset.  I really wanted a corset, and didn't think about the fact that it doesn't really fit with the theme of my blog.  At this point, I don't think my blog has a theme.  Other than "life"...   But I wanted it to go under the vintage dresses I might someday make, so I guess it is a little relevant (yeah grasping at straws LOL).  It will definitely happen again, because any chance to get awesome products for free is definitely my cup of tea (or Dr. Pepper, since I hate tea).
