Experience God with Mother Goose Time

Mother Goose Time offers a variety of add-ons to their great preschool curriculum.  You can get Little Goose for toddlers, More Math and Literacy for kids that are ready for more "book learnin'", Dance 'n Beats for physical education/dance, and Experience God for teaching Little Ones about God.
Little Guy and I were doing a good enough job at blogging about Mother Goose Time that we were offered an add-on kit for free in exchange for more reviewing!  *side note: I always say Little Guy and I because while I do the "work" side of things with the blogging, if it were not for him and his hard work we wouldn't have anything to review!*  I had a hard time choosing between Dance 'n Beats and Experience God, but I found out I was doing a terrible job at his Bible Education when we were talking about what was read and what was not real and he said God wasn't real.  So we had a talk about that, and my decision was made simple!

*another side note: We were driving to my grandparents' house this week and we passed a church.  I pointed out the cross to Little Guy, and the following conversation occurred -

Me: Who died on the cross?
Little Guy: Jesus.
Me: Why did he die on the cross?
Little Guy: To take away our sins.
Me: I am so happy you know that!!!
Little Guy: Can I have my sins back?
Me: I guess I have not done a good enough job explaining this...

We then discussed the matter a bit more and I explained that sins are bad things we do, and we can't go to heaven if we have them.  I said they are yucky and we don't want them back.  I think he sort of gets it now...*

There is a teacher pack with instructions, activities, prayer ideas, and questions to ask.  Each day is designed to only take about 10 minutes.  It also has instruction on how to use it as a Sunday School curriculum instead of a preschool add-on.

Each day there is an activity to do that helps the children learn the main topic (This month is God Wants Me To Obey) and the applicable story (Moses in the Desert - because Mother Goose Time is the queen of the theme - Our main curriculum topic is Discover the Desert!).  Just like the main curriculum, each month is divided into four parts, each with a different theme.

moses and the desert story cards
There is a Bible Story they learn every month, and the story is told on large story cards, with pictures on the front and the words on the back.  You read the story once a week, which should help with retention.
A family newsletter.  There is one for each week, and there is a coloring page on the back.

The kit includes the newsletters and the supplies for all the crafts shown.
Each month there is a Bible verse to memorize.  Little Guy has a great memory so he memorized it pretty quickly.  HOPEFULLY this video works, but no promises.  I am a video failure most of the time.

Why I Choose Christian Light Education Homeschool Curriculum

Last summer I decided that I was going to homeschool our foster daughters while they were on summer vacation.  There were two reasons for this: 1) Two of the three girls were behind academically.  I really hoped that by working through the summer we could help them get on track for the next school year.  They left our house soon after school started, so I don't know how well it worked. 2) I don't allow my children much in the way of screen time, and these girls were accustomed to having TV and tablets in their rooms all the time.  So they never really knew what to do with themselves.  I figured school work for the morning would help with that dilemma. Choosing a curriculum was difficult for me.  I know that some people bounce around and change curriculum a lot, but whatever I got, I hoped I would like enough to use the non-consumables with Little Guy.  I don't like wasting money, and I hate the idea of some topics falling through the cracks because different curricu

Things That Annoy Infertile Girls (or Maybe Just Me?) - Flashback Friday

Is Mother Goose Time Worth The Money?

Last night my husband asked me if I thought that Mother Goose Time was worth the money if I didn't get it for free.  I think this is an excellent question, and one that people probably want to know. How Much Does It Cost?: Mother Goose Time costs $75 a month for one child, including shipping if you buy it month to month.  If you can order and pre-pay ahead of time, you can save up to 15%, depending on how far ahead you pre-pay.  If you have more than one child using the curriculum it is only about $5 a month to add a child.  Many of the products provided cover the entire class, including manipulatives and story books.  The things that each child needs come packaged in their own bag for each child. What I Think of the Curriculum: The curriculum is great.  It is thorough and engaging.  It provides me with ideas and supplies to teach my son things I never would have thought to teach him, but will make him a very well rounded person.  He now talks about things he never would ha
